Worlds 2009-First Impressions (T2)

There are certain things that catch your eye when looking at the cold stats of a Worlds Tournament. Certain things you like , certain things you dislike.

Let's start with the things I liked:

Emeria Angel: Yes!! She is the new angel on the block, she is the newcomer, a card that was underrated when it first was spoilt but she really gets her 15 minutes of fame and aims to get a lot more.

The fact that there was no US or Japanese player in the top 8 (or the teams finals). I like surprises and this indeed was one. Congrats team China!!

Naya Love: A different shard finally getting some love

Knight of the reliquary: Is this the rise of a new Goyf? Could be... I certainly hope so...

Things I disliked:

35% playing Jund... Really? Lack of imagination or the certainty of being the best deck in T2. Either way those who took the time to playtest against (the most likely to play against deck) Jund found its weaknesses and ways to beat it . Jund may be the best deck , but everyone knows what it plays card to card.

No love for Blue. After so many years of being the color to hate, blue is the weakest right now, this makes me sad as a control player. Wizards!! throw us some love this way please!!!

The Gindy disqualification , it should have been Kibler. Something tells me if Kibler was disqualified at Austin Gindy would have been more careful, Gindy paid for the marbles. Lets hope they'll get it right from now on.
