We'll take a break from all the tier 1 / worlds decks to look into a deck a bit more fun with the potential of being competitive. The ultimatums were created to win you games the minute they resolve, cruel saw a lot of play, violent saw some while the other I win ultimatum, Titanic, saw none . Some will say its because we already have overrun, but players stopped using that also because of one card that made it impossible to get through, Baneslayer Angel. With Titanic even your 1/1s can take on the dreaded angel.
This deck thrives on card advantage since most cards are two for ones, with some even being four for ones. Let's take a closer look.
4*Noble Hierarch
4*Rampant Growth
4*Elvish Visionary
4*Borderland Ranger
4*Bloodbraid Elf
4*Siege-Gang Commander
2*Captain of the watch
3*Ajani Vengeant
4*Lightning Bolt
2*Path to Exile
3*Titanic Ultimatum
3*Rootboung Crag
3*Jungle Shrine
2*Oran Rief
7*Forests
4*Mountain
3*Plains
Sideboard
4*Goblin Ruinblaster
4*Accidic Slime
4*Mycoid Shepherd
3*Qasali Pridemage
Note that most times you won't even need an army, any three creatures will win you the game 90% of the time when Titanic Ultimatum resolves. Paths are not present only as removal, they also ramp up your deck to the mana needed for an early siege-gang or an early game ending titanic!!!
Matchups
Crypt Combo/Other Control matchups
Ajani is main deck to keep those decks in check game 1 while you wreck them with card advantage. Mass removal is ussualy no problem since you can get up on your feet and attack in no time with Siege-Gang Commander/Captain of the Watch and Bloodbraid Elf. When the LD package comes on from the side they just can't keep up.
Jund
Speed is the key, if you have a fast hand you'll probably win, with a slow hand you will probably loose. Choose your mulligans wisely. When you are playing first it may be wise to bring in the LD package and wreck their game, however if they are playing the rampant growth version you might want to abort that plan.
Boros
You have two ways of winning, one go aggro on them and win, your good hand can actually beat theirs, the other option is to keep them in check with early removal, siege-gang is a pain for them. Mycoid shepherd adds life gain and a fatty post-side.
Jacerator
Game 1 is tough but with the addition of Qasali Pridemage and Accidic Slime the games are yours, you won't be needing the Ultimatums for this match. Don't side out your removal!
Elfs
They are usually faster than you, if you manage to resolve Titanic fast then you'll be ok. Bad matchup.
Valakut Combo
Very favorable main, even better post side.
Testing is not over, but I really wanted to share this original and fun to play deck with you. I think there is some potential there and even some room for tuning. I suggest you try it and am looking forward to your thoughts.
