I was trying to make a planeswalker control deck but I couldn't find a way to fit blue in, so I decided to go with Jund Colors. I put all my favorite cards in , didn't think about it much and since I had some time I decided to participate in a magic-league tournament (76 participants ) . I ended up first having some fun along the way.
Here is the decklist:
1 Sorin Markov
1 Liliana Vess
3 Garruk Wildspeaker
3 Chandra Nalaar
1 Liliana Vess
3 Garruk Wildspeaker
3 Chandra Nalaar
1 Broodmate Dragon
4 Violent Ultimatum
3 Mind Shatter
4 Explore
2 Lightning Bolt
2 Lavalanche
3 Maelstrom Pulse
1 Terminate
2 Earthquake
4 Rampant Growth
1 Volcanic Fallout
4 Savage Lands
4 Raging Ravine
2 Terramorphic Expanse
4 Swamp
3 Forest
2 Mountain
3 Rootbound Crag
3 Dragonskull Summit
4 Raging Ravine
2 Terramorphic Expanse
4 Swamp
3 Forest
2 Mountain
3 Rootbound Crag
3 Dragonskull Summit
Sideboard:
4 Goblin Ruinblaster
4 Vampire Nighthawk
4 Malakir Bloodwitch
1 Maelstrom Pulse
2 Duress
On the way to the top I beat esper aggro (random cards) , valakut combo, time sieve combo, WW Alies (really difficult matchup), Naya and UW Control.
I won't bore you with the details, top moments of the tourney was one with naya dropping a baneslayer in two turns and me answering with two Chandra Nallaar , and leaving UW Control with no lands and no hope both games.
All sideboard cards were needed and performed nicely.
Obviously the deck needs work, looking forward to your comments before taking it to a larger tournament.

I removed Broodmate Dragon for an extra Lightning Bolt. The deck is 9-1 so far in sanctioned games.
ReplyDeleteTested against jund and its a little over 50%.
So far 100% wins against any type of control.
